A Treasury minister has visited Bournemouth as JP Morgan moves ahead with its Chaseside expansion.
Economic Secretary Lucy Rigby joined Bournemouth East MP Tom Hayes for a tour of the bank’s operations before visiting Tuckton Tea Gardens during her trip to the town.
At the campus, she met young people working on-site and heard about their experiences of learning about financial services and artificial intelligence as part of their career development.
The expansion plans include a five-storey office building, a decked car park providing 118 spaces and 614 cycle parking spaces, supporting 1,600 employees working at the site.
Mr Hayes said it was “fantastic to see JP Morgan expanding” and added that the visit followed close work with the company during recent months.
Ms Rigby said she welcomed the opportunity to learn about the global operations based at Chaseside and to hear from apprentices and other young people starting their careers.
