Mind reader show set for Poole theatre

A live mind reading show is heading to Poole, bringing audience interaction and psychological illusion.

Alex McAleer will perform his touring production Mind Reader at Lighthouse Poole on 23 May, offering an evening where audiences take part in demonstrations of mentalism and behaviour-based illusions.

The show blends psychological techniques with humour, as McAleer predicts decisions, reveals personal details and guides audiences through shared moments designed to feel both engaging and unexpected.

His interest in mentalism began as a teenager and has since developed into an international career, with performances across the UK, Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia.

He previously spent more than a decade touring with Champions of Magic, including appearances at major venues such as the Hammersmith Apollo, before launching his own solo productions.

McAleer has also appeared on television programmes including Good Morning Britain, Access Hollywood and Today Tonight, and achieved a long-held ambition by performing on Blue Peter.

Alongside his stage work, he has written books on performance techniques and delivered workshops for other performers, including sessions at The Magic Circle in London.

The current tour follows a previous UK run and continues to bring the live show to audiences, with each performance shaped by those taking part.
