Opening date for new Christchurch Post Office

Christchurch Post Office is set to relocate to new premises in Church Street this March.

The current branch at Saxon Square will close at 12.30pm on Saturday 28 February, as the temporary postmaster is unable to continue and the premises will no longer be available for Post Office use.

A new postmaster will reopen the service inside the Premier store at 24 Church Street on Wednesday 11 March at 1pm, following refurbishment works to incorporate the counter within the retail space.

Customers will have access to 44 hours and 30 minutes of service each week, from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm and on Saturdays from 9am until 1.30pm.

There will be 3 serving positions, including 1 screened counter, 2 open plan positions and a serving point at the retail counter, with the same range of Post Office services available.

The new site is around 400 metres from the current branch, with maintained pavements and dropped kerbs along the route, and time restricted parking nearby on Wick Lane as well as Wick Lane car park 130 metres away.
