A Poole storage facility is preparing to expand after sustained demand for space since opening.
Store and Secure in Hamworthy has secured permission to increase its footprint by around a third, with work now under way to prepare the rear of the site for development, which will provide hundreds of additional storage units for customers.
The family run business opened four years ago and offers a mix of storage units and serviced office space, supporting both household and commercial users from across Poole and the wider area, with demand continuing to grow steadily.
Co owner Lucy Maidman said the business was now in a position to extend following continued take up of units, adding that some of the new storage space is already being allocated ahead of construction starting.
She said many customers run online retail operations, with the facility handling deliveries and providing flexible storage, a working pattern that became more common during the pandemic and has continued since.
The site is known locally as Joyce House, named in memory of the sisters’ mother, with the business placing an emphasis on personal service and its prominent Hamworthy location.
