A Valentine’s Day celebration will bring music and free roses to Poole town centre.
Free red roses will be handed out across the high street on Saturday 14 February as part of a Valentine’s Day event designed to encourage people to spend time in the town and visit independent businesses, with vouchers exchanged for flowers at participating shops and cafés.
Live music will add to the atmosphere as rockabilly band The Blue Moon Boys perform outside The Brewhouse Pub, with the musicians also collecting donations for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care while visitors enjoy the afternoon activity in the area.
The rose giveaway will involve a range of local traders including Premier Bites, Frontline, Mortons Jewellers, Grand Bazaar and The Mens Room Barbers, helping to spread footfall across different parts of the town centre.
Suzy Wheeler, Communications Officer at Poole BID, said the aim was to share a little joy and give people “the perfect excuse to come into town, support our independents and soak up the atmosphere”.
Organisers say the event is open to everyone, whether people are celebrating relationships, friendships or simply enjoying time out in Poole.
