Charity launches Poole sunset walk event

A new community sunset walk is launching in Poole this spring to help people remember loved ones while supporting hospice care.

Forest Holme Hospice Charity has announced the first Sunset Walk, taking place on Friday 17 April, with the route starting and finishing at Branksome Dene Chine. The evening walk follows the coastline, offering views across Sandbanks and Poole Harbour as the sun sets.

Participants can choose between two walking distances and the event is open to everyone, whether or not they have a personal connection to the hospice. The charity says the walk is designed to be inclusive and focused on bringing people together in a calm and supportive setting.

Claire Cooper, Events and Challenges Manager at Forest Holme Hospice Charity, said the new event aims to give people space to reflect while enjoying a well known local landscape. She said the charity wanted participants to feel comfortable taking part and to enjoy walking together as a community.

After the walk, participants will return to the Branksome Dene Room for refreshments. Each walker will receive a commemorative t shirt and medal to mark the occasion.

Forest Holme Hospice Charity provides specialist care for adults with life limiting illnesses across Poole and the wider area.
