Planning permission has been granted for enabling works at Vitality Stadium, clearing the way for early changes supporting future redevelopment plans.
The approved scheme allows infrastructure upgrades designed to improve how supporters access and move around the stadium on matchdays, while also supporting operational needs as the club plans further development of the site.
The works include a new perimeter fence and turnstiles, changes to pedestrian and cycle routes, a dedicated outside broadcast area, and the enclosure of existing terraces within the West Stand to improve safety and accessibility.
Together, the changes are intended to improve crowd management, enhance the matchday experience, and prepare the site for later phases of redevelopment linked to the club’s long-term plans for the stadium.
Bill Foley, owner of AFC Bournemouth, said the approval marked an important step, adding that the proposals reflected the club’s commitment to investing locally and delivering long-term benefits for supporters and nearby communities.
The club says it will now move into detailed planning and delivery, with further updates expected as work progresses, and has thanked Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council for its support during the application process.
