Parkstone church hosts winter market event
A winter celebration is being held at St Peter’s Church in Parkstone through a new partnership with Pier Journal, bringing together local traders, musicians and families from across Poole and Dorset.
The event, called Winter at the Cross, includes an artisan market, live music, carols and activities for children, with stalls featuring local makers and producers from around the county.
It’s happening on Saturday 20th December from 10am.
Organisers say more than thirty stalls are taking part, offering food, drink, jewellery, ceramics and artwork, alongside seasonal activities including crafts and storytelling.
Local musicians including Ribble, Angie RamJam and Roxanne Phillips are providing live performances during the day, with further music and carols taking place outside the church later on.
St Peter’s has expanded its role in recent years to host live music and community events, with this collaboration marking its latest partnership.
The church says money raised will be donated to support pastoral care and community connection in the Ashley Cross area.
Reverend Mike Trotman said the event builds on the church’s annual carols gathering and aims to welcome local families while supporting community causes.
Pier Journal co director Sammy Murphy said the collaboration reflects the publication’s focus on celebrating local makers, artists, writers and musicians in person as well as in print.
