Dorset businesses invited to take part in free AI workshops

Small and medium-sized businesses across Dorset are being offered the chance to take part in free workshops designed to explore how artificial intelligence can be used in the workplace.

The AI Exchange, organised by business advisory firm Evolve and funded by Business Growth Dorset, will run this September in Ferndown, Poole, Sherborne and Bridport. Each event is limited to 20 spaces and will focus on hands-on learning and practical applications.

Unlike traditional seminars, the sessions will encourage open discussion, peer-to-peer learning and practical demonstrations that participants can take back to their business. Attendees are invited to bring laptops and share their own experiences, whether they are new to AI or already using tools such as ChatGPT or automation software.

The workshops will be co-hosted by David Mutton from Evolve and Dan Griffiths from Interpin Solutions, who will lead discussions and provide technical insight into AI’s potential benefits and challenges.

David Mutton said the aim was to help businesses navigate new technology in a supportive environment. He explained that many business owners were unsure where to begin and that the workshops were about “cutting through the noise and figuring it out together.”

The sessions will also look at the ethical considerations around AI, as well as the tools already making a difference for businesses.

The AI Exchange is free to attend and open to SMEs based in both the BCP Council and Dorset Council areas.
