Bournemouth parade takes a different route

Bourne Free Pride’s Bournemouth parade will take a revised route this year due to roadworks.

The procession will no longer begin on the East Cliff because of ongoing work in Westover Road and Gervis Place, with organisers confirming a new route which starts at West Overcliff Drive.

Participants will travel along West Cliff Road and West Hill Road before continuing through Poole Hill and the Triangle, an area organisers describe as having been an important safe space for the community for many years.

The parade will then head down Bourne Avenue, turn into Braidley Road and finish at Meyrick Park, where the procession will come to an end.

Organisers said they were pleased the revised plans meant the parade could pass through the Triangle, adding that people along the route could show their support with “smiles, chants, waves and plenty of pride”.

Everyone is invited to watch the parade from locations along the procession route.
