Man seriously hurt in Christchurch crash

A man in his 70s suffered serious injuries after a collision in Christchurch on Tuesday morning.

The pedestrian was involved in a crash with a white VW Beetle on Stour Road at 9.08am on Tuesday 23 June 2026, prompting emergency services to attend and a road closure to be introduced.

The local man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after officers and ambulance crews arrived at the scene.

Police Constable Jack Honnywill, of BCP police, said officers are seeking witnesses who have not already spoken with them, as well as motorists who may have dashcam footage.

He said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision who have not spoken to officers yet to please come forward.”

Officers are also asking anyone driving in the area around the time of the collision to check whether their vehicle captured footage that could assist the investigation.

Police Constable Honnywill added: “I am keen to hear from any motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
