Parking restrictions have been introduced on more than thirty streets across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, affecting disabled parking, limited waiting areas and permit-holder-only spaces.
On Capstone Road, a new permit-only disabled parking area will be created outside number 181, replacing the existing disabled parking provision at that location. Beresford Road and Evelyn Road will also see the removal of current disabled parking zones outside numbers 11 and 24 respectively.
Mount Pleasant Drive’s communal disabled parking area will become a limited waiting spot outside number 35, while Riggs Gardens will be converted from a general disabled parking area to one for permit holders only.
Grange Road and Peel Close will lose their ‘no waiting at any time’ zones, which will be replaced by permit-holder-only areas. A parking area outside Garfield Avenue will be designated specifically for blue badge holders.
Southbourne Overcliff Drive’s disabled permit parking area will become a street parking spot for cars and motorcycles.
Other changes include new permit-holder-only disabled parking bays in several streets, such as Cornish Gardens, Cranleigh Road and Cunningham Place. Some roads, including Jewell Road, Kinson Grove and Wheaton Road, will have disabled parking zones revoked at multiple locations.
The changes followed a council consultation and came into effect on June 22.
