Bournemouth Airport tops UK punctuality

Bournemouth Airport was the UK’s most punctual airport during the Easter holiday period, new figures show.

Civil Aviation Authority statistics for April show that 88.8% of passenger flights arrived or departed within 15 minutes of their scheduled time, placing Bournemouth Airport at the top of the national punctuality table.

The data covers 809 passenger aircraft arrivals and departures during the month, when 113,323 people travelled through the terminal, up 7% from 105,482 passengers in April last year.

It is the second time Bournemouth Airport has led the UK punctuality rankings in 2026, after also taking the top position in January.

Managing Director Steve Gill said the result reflected work across the airport community during one of the busier periods for travel.

He said passengers expect “a reliable and stress-free experience” and added that maintaining standards would remain important as passenger numbers continue to grow.

Almost 1.4 million passengers travelled through Bournemouth Airport in the year to April 2026, its highest annual total.

Recent improvements include a new immigration and arrivals hall, extra main car park spaces, a new outbound baggage facility and a larger baggage reclaim hall.

The airport has also opened the Bourne and Acre Bar and Kitchen for passengers.
