A woman has died following a medical emergency on Southbourne promenade on Monday afternoon.
The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said they sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and an operations officer to the scene.
Dorset Police adds that they were called at 2.21pm on Monday 22 June 2026 to assist with the incident, helping to clear an area of the promenade so emergency services could attend safely.
The force said emergency responders were able to reach the scene after the area had been cleared, with police supporting the response to ensure it could be managed safely.
A woman was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, near Fisherman’s Walk.
Her next of kin has been informed, and the coroner has been notified.
Dorset Police has confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious. No further details about the woman or the medical emergency have been released.
