Rail lines blocked after Poole incident

Rail passengers are facing disruption after a person was hit by a train between Poole and Hamworthy.

All lines are blocked following the incident, affecting services running to and from the area this morning. Trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised while the disruption continues.

Sterte Road is also closed to vehicles and pedestrians following the incident.

South Western Railway’s alert service said the disruption is expected to last until midday on 12/06. Passengers are being advised to seek onward travel help if they are affected by the delays.

The alert said passengers should speak to a member of staff, use a station help point, or visit the railway’s website for further advice about their journey.

The message added: “We are very sorry for any delay to your journey and any inconvenience this may cause you.”

The disruption is affecting a key section of the rail line between Poole and Hamworthy, with passengers travelling through the area urged to check before setting off.
