Law firm moves team to Bobby’s building

A Dorset law firm is moving its Bournemouth team into the Bobby’s building.

Trethowans is preparing to relocate its 39 strong Bournemouth team from Oxford Road to the second floor of the town centre landmark, after a period of growth since opening in the town less than a decade ago.

The firm says the new office has space for an additional 40 colleagues, giving it room to continue expanding locally and supporting plans to double the size of the Bournemouth team over the next few years.

Mark Nixon, corporate partner and head of the Bournemouth office, said: “Bournemouth is our home,” adding that moving out of the town centre “was never an option” as the firm wanted to remain connected to the community it serves.

The workspace includes open plan areas, stripped wood floors, high ceilings, exposed features, a large kitchen, wellbeing room and dedicated collaboration suites for staff and clients.

Mark said Bobby’s gives the firm “a fantastic, central base” and described it as “a welcoming, accessible hub” for the people and local businesses it works with.

A small group, including representatives from BCP Council, Bournemouth Town Centre BID and Bournemouth Rugby Club, was shown around the new office on June 2 ahead of an opening event in July.

Trethowans has 300 staff across offices in Southampton, Winchester, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Poole and London, and also supports local organisations including Bournemouth Rugby Club, the Pavilion, AFC Bournemouth, Fear Free and Lewis-Manning Hospice.
