Dorset Police has issued an update on its investigation into the death of 35-year-old Michael Mitchell, known to his family as Mitch.
Mr Mitchell, from Chelmsford in Essex, is believed to be the man who entered the water from a sailing boat in Arne Bay on Friday 29 May. His body was later found off Baiter Park in Poole Harbour on Tuesday 2 June.
A forensic post-mortem examination has been carried out, but the cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Further testing and analysis are continuing.
Three men, aged 46, 31 and 22, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, have now been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicky Jenkins said officers are carrying out detailed investigations to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death and are continuing to support and update Mr Mitchell’s family.
Police are appealing for anyone who had contact with Michael Mitchell in the days before Friday 29 May, or who has information that could assist the investigation, to come forward quoting occurrence number 55260080161.
