Man convicted over Bournemouth seafront rape

Dorset Police says a 19-year-old man has been found guilty following a sexual attack on a woman in Bournemouth.

The assault happened during the early hours of July 6, 2025 near Undercliff Drive on the seafront.

A 20-year-old woman had been walking alone when she was approached by Mohammed Abdullah, from West Drayton in Middlesex, who offered her a lift on his e-bike.

Police say the pair later stopped near the East Cliff Zig-Zag, where Abdullah sexually assaulted and raped the victim inside portable toilets before leaving the scene.

The victim later managed to contact her mother, who alerted police.

Following an investigation by detectives, Abdullah was arrested and charged with rape and assault by penetration.

He was convicted at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday May 15 and is due to be sentenced on July 3.

Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen praised the victim’s bravery in reporting the offences and supporting the investigation.
