Police prepare for busy summer

Dorset Police says months of planning have gone into preparing for the summer season across Dorset.

Around 25 million visitors are expected, with numbers rising significantly during warmer weather.

An extra 40 officers will be deployed to neighbourhood policing teams, with increased patrols in key areas.

Police will work with partners including Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and HM Coastguard to keep people safe.

Efforts will focus on tackling anti-social behaviour, violent crime, retail crime and knife crime.

Officials are urging residents and visitors to act responsibly, follow safety advice and report any concerns promptly.
