Council seeks Boscombe café operator

BCP Council is searching for an operator to run a community café in Churchill Gardens, Boscombe.

The council has launched a tender process for the site, offering a five-year lease anticipated to begin in September 2026, running through to 2031.

The café operates from a modular building installed in 2021/22 and includes a main café space, kitchen, servery and accessible toilet. There is also a separate community area with additional facilities.

Located next to a children’s play area and ball court, the site is expected to benefit from future investment as part of the council’s £3.9 million playground improvement strategy across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

The successful operator will be expected to provide a range of food and drink options, including hot meals, barista-style coffee and healthier choices such as vegan and gluten-free items.

They will also help support community activities and manage a nearby “grow zone” of raised planting beds.

Applications must be submitted by May 29, 2026.
