New academic leaders have been appointed at a Bournemouth university as it continues to grow.
Health Sciences University has named a new Head of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and confirmed a permanent Head of its Health Business School, strengthening leadership across its teaching and research activity.
Dr Yetunde Dairo has taken up the role leading the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, bringing more than 30 years of experience across higher education and healthcare in the UK and internationally.
She joins from Buckinghamshire New University, where she held senior roles including Associate Professor of Physiotherapy, supporting academic development, research and programme innovation.
Her work focuses on physical activity, rehabilitation and improving health outcomes for underserved groups, including people with intellectual disabilities and neurological conditions.
Dr Dairo said she is “delighted to be joining Health Sciences University at such an exciting stage”, adding she looks forward to working with colleagues and partners to develop an inclusive and future-ready school.
Dr Adetola Adekunle has also been confirmed as permanent Head of the Health Business School after previously leading the department on an interim basis.
She brings experience in higher education and the financial sector, with a focus on employee engagement, leadership and organisational development, alongside work with national and international professional bodies.
She said it is “an honour” to continue leading the school and supporting its next phase of growth.
