The A338 was slow moving on Friday morning as two horses ran along the carriageway.
Police attended to control traffic with a rolling road block between Ashley Heath and Cooper Dean at around 11am.
Disruption was kept to a minimum and lasted for around 30 minutes thanks to the actions of Police officers.
It follows an incident earlier this week when over a dozen horses were running around both sides of the carriageway, causing long delays and closures.
Dorset Police tells Bournemouth One: “We were called at 10.46am to a report of two loose horses on the A338 in Bournemouth. At around 11.10am the horses were moved off the road and road cleared.
