A country-themed fundraising night is coming to Christchurch this June in support of Diverse Abilities.
Country Roots will take place on Friday 5 June 2026 at The Treehouse on Merritown Lane, bringing together live music, line dancing, food trucks, a bar and fundraising activities for an adults-only evening in aid of the Dorset disability charity.
The event will feature music from Route 66, a Dorset-based country and folk-inspired band made up of singers, songwriters and musicians, while guests will also be able to join 2 line dancing sessions during the night.
Organisers say the event will offer “all things country” and is designed to welcome both experienced line dancers and those trying it for the first time, with the sessions included as part of general admission.
Mariana Swain, events executive at Diverse Abilities, said the charity was “really looking forward” to the next Country Roots event after holding 2 events last year, adding that the entertainment line-up is “perfect for everyone”.
She said the evening will include Dorset band Route 66 and 2 line dancing classes that are suitable “whether you are a pro or an absolute beginner”.
All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the charity’s work with children and adults with disabilities and their families across Dorset.
