Dorset carers attend royal reception

Members of Dorset’s carer community have attended a special reception at Windsor Castle hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The event celebrated the dedication of both paid and unpaid carers from across the country.

Among those invited was Lizzie Eden, who works with GP practices to improve support for carers.

Representing Dorset HealthCare, she was nominated by NHS England in recognition of her work raising awareness and connecting carers with support services.

She described the experience as a “real honour” and said it was inspiring to see carers recognised on a national stage.

Also attending was Steve Duckett, who was nominated by Carers UK.

Organisers say the reception highlighted the vital role carers play in supporting communities across the UK.
