New ward boundaries set for town councils

BCP Council has confirmed new ward boundaries for the area’s upcoming town councils.

The changes follow a Community Governance Review carried out between October 2024 and October 2025.

New town councils have been created for Bournemouth, Poole and Broadstone.

Bournemouth has been divided into 10 wards, each electing two or three councillors.

Poole will have 15 wards, with each returning one or two councillors.

Broadstone has been split into two wards – Broadstone East and Broadstone West.

The new boundaries will be used in the town council elections on May 7.

Residents are being advised to check the council’s interactive map to confirm which ward they are in.

Officials say some people may find their town council ward is different from their existing BCP Council ward.
