
Man arrested after Poole custody escape
A man who reportedly escaped from lawful custody in Poole has now been located and arrested.
Dorset Police said 32 year old Jason Evans was reported to have made off from a privately operated prisoner transport vehicle in Poole Road at around 5.28pm on 2 April 2026.
Following the report, officers carried out extensive enquiries and issued appeals to help locate him after he was believed to be unlawfully at large.
Police confirmed that on the afternoon of 6 April 2026, Evans was located at an address in Bournemouth and arrested.
He has been arrested on suspicion of remaining at large after recall to prison.
Officers said they would like to thank members of the public who shared the appeal and provided information which helped with the investigation.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing.
