A new swimming venue in Bournemouth is set to open this April for families.
Puddle Ducks Dorset will begin running classes at Moordown St John’s Primary School in the coming weeks, expanding its baby and preschool programme and creating more opportunities for young children to learn water skills in a purpose built environment.
The swim school currently teaches more than 800 children each week across the area, focusing on helping babies and young children build confidence in the water while developing essential swimming ability through structured and supportive lessons.
Owner Jane Bozic said the team is “absolutely delighted to be opening a new pool this spring”, adding the expansion reflects both the success of the sessions and the families attending each week, while allowing more children to start learning early.
The launch comes as national research shows only 70% of Year 7 pupils can swim 25 metres competently, underlining the importance of early lessons in building confidence, safety awareness and long term swimming ability.
