Plans submitted for flats in former medical centre
Plans have been submitted to convert a vacant medical centre in Poole into residential flats.
Oraco Properties Ltd has applied to BCP Council for prior approval to change the use of the building on Madeira Road from commercial to residential.
The site was historically used as a medical centre and later as a childcare facility but has been vacant for more than two years.
Under the proposal, the building would be converted into 12 flats spread across two floors.
Seven of the homes would be located on the ground floor, with five on the first floor.
Plans show the development would include seven two-bedroom flats, four one-bedroom flats and one studio apartment.
The council says the proposal would not result in the immediate loss of an operational community facility.
The plans are currently open for public consultation until April 15.
A final decision is expected to be made by planning officers after the consultation period ends.
