Peter Andre says performing Frankie Valli songs on stage brings back memories of his childhood.
The singer and actor is currently starring in The Very Best of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, which comes to The BIC this Saturday night with a show celebrating the music and stories behind many well known hits.
Andre says the tour has been a personal experience because the music formed part of the soundtrack to his early years growing up on Australia’s Gold Coast.
He said “Frankie Valli was an integral part of my childhood” explaining that songs playing from beachside speakers at weekends were tracks he once assumed belonged to the Beach Boys before later discovering they were Frankie Valli classics.
The stage show features songs including Beggin’, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and Grease, with Andre saying audiences often recognise more songs than they expect once the music begins.
He said people do not always realise which songs are connected to Frankie Valli until they are in the theatre, adding that crowds frequently end up singing along as the show unfolds.
Andre believes the tour appeals across generations, with parents reliving music from their youth while younger audience members often find themselves joining in by the end of the performance.
