Vitality Stadium revamp work begins
Work has begun on redeveloping AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth following council approval in January.
Enabling works are now under way ahead of a planning committee decision expected in early May 2026, with the club outlining a phased construction programme that will begin at the end of the 2025 to 2026 season, subject to the relevant permissions being granted.
The current South Stand is set to be demolished once the season concludes, before a new 3,000 seat lower tier is constructed, alongside infill works to the South East and North West corners and the relocation of turnstiles to a new outer perimeter.
A newly built ticket office will become operational on the updated boundary, while both the East and West Stands undergo internal refurbishment, including three new hospitality spaces as well as upgraded media seating and enhanced broadcast facilities within the West Stand.
Initial works are expected to increase overall capacity by more than 1,500 seats, with construction of the South Stand upper tier continuing through the 2026 to 2027 season and further corner infills and extensions planned in 2027 to take capacity to around 20,200, subject to planning and construction phasing.
