Dorset footballer Daisy Preston has been shortlisted for the People’s Puskas Award 2025, an international competition recognising the best goals scored outside the professional game.
Daisy plays for Wimborne Town FC under eighteen girls, and her goal has earned her international recognition.
The award highlights remarkable moments from community pitches rather than elite stadiums. A spokesperson for the competition said it aims to “shine a light on grassroots football and celebrate players making an impact locally and internationally.”
Daisy’s goal is now in contention alongside entries from multiple countries, putting local youth football on the global map. Supporters have been encouraged to follow the competition online and celebrate grassroots talent in Dorset and beyond.
