AFC Bournemouth has submitted full plans to expand the Vitality Stadium, aiming to increase its capacity to 20.000 and improve facilities across all stands.
The south stand will be demolished and replaced with nearly 6800 seats, including 60 elevated wheelchair spaces. The east and north stands will also be renovated to provide additional seating, while the west stand will focus on upgraded hospitality spaces and reorganised seating.
A new fanzone will be created to encourage spectators to socialise before games, including popup food and drinks, with the ticket office relocated to the area. The plans also include a transport assessment to tackle parking issues in surrounding streets. Matchday parking will be restricted to permit holders with pre-booked car parks, and discussions are ongoing to secure off-site parking at the Sovereign Centre.
Bournemouth East MP, Tom Hayes, said the expansion would help the club continue to grow and hopes traffic and parking measures will reassure local residents. BCP Council could not comment on the plans while the application remains live.
