Late Adli strike seals Bournemouth win

Bournemouth secured a dramatic home win after a stoppage time goal settled a five goal contest.

The home side took control early on, with Evanilson opening the scoring from close range after a move involving Alex Scott, before Álex Jiménez made it two with a composed finish following a through ball, putting Bournemouth firmly in charge inside the opening half hour.

Liverpool responded just before the break when Virgil van Dijk converted from a corner, giving the visitors renewed belief and setting up a second half in which they controlled more possession and began to test Bournemouth’s defensive shape.

The equaliser arrived with ten minutes remaining as Dominik Szoboszlai curled a free kick into the bottom corner, shifting momentum and forcing Bournemouth to defend deeper during the closing stages of the match.

With the game heading towards a draw, Bournemouth pressed forward one final time in added time, and after two close range efforts were blocked, Amine Adli reacted quickest to score from inside the six yard box, sealing a memorable victory as Liverpool’s late push was denied by the final whistle.
