AFC Bournemouth lose at home to Everton
AFC Bournemouth players have urged everyone connected with the club to stay united after a one nil defeat to Everton at Vitality Stadium, which ended the Cherries’ unbeaten home run this season.
Adrien Truffert said the team fell short in key areas and called on supporters to keep backing the side during a demanding spell.
He said they needed to “do better” by winning more duels, keeping the ball longer and increasing their intensity. Truffert added that the squad would work hard in training to put things right and thanked fans for their support during what he described as a difficult moment.
Alex Scott also encouraged togetherness after the team went five games without a win. He explained that the head coach had spoken about the standards shown earlier this season and said the recent drop in results was not a large one.
Scott noted that injuries and suspensions were part of the Premier League and said it was important for players stepping in to take their chance.
He described the match as frustrating, saying neither side created many chances before a deflected effort decided the game. Scott said the side must improve in attack after managing only two shots on target.
