Broadstone fireworks light up the sky

More than 3,000 people enjoyed Broadstone’s biggest ever fireworks display, organised by the parent teacher associations of Broadstone First and Middle Schools.

As well as the impressive firework show featuring three large fireballs, visitors enjoyed bouncy castles, a bar and a range of stalls.

The event is expected to raise nearly £16,000, with all proceeds going towards projects and improvements across both schools.

Headteacher of Broadstone Middle School, Jade Palmer, said: “This was the ninth annual display and it just gets better each year. The reputation of the display is such that people buy tickets early in order to ensure they can attend.”

She added that estates manager Stuart Bonham works closely with Fireworks Solutions to create the display, making good use of his pyrotechnic experience.

The event has become a major date in Broadstone’s calendar, attracting families from across the community, including those considering joining the schools in future years.

Planning is already underway for the tenth anniversary display, which will take place on the first weekend of the half term break next year.

Both Broadstone First and Middle Schools are part of the Southern Education Trust.
