A new theatrical ghost tour is set to launch in Poole this autumn, bringing eerie tales and folklore to the town’s historic Old Town and quay.
Spectre and Host’s Tours of the Unexplained will be led by the mysterious character Mr Spectre, who will guide visitors through cobbled alleyways and narrow streets on a ninety minute walk. The experience blends history with dramatic storytelling, recounting stories of murder, mystery and the supernatural from Poole’s past.
Mr Spectre said the aim was to create more than just a history lesson. “Our goal is to transport guests back in time and share the spooky folklore, paranormal stories and unexplained events that have shaped Poole’s history. This tour is about more than just ghosts; it’s an engaging and theatrical experience that explores the forgotten secrets hidden in the shadows of the Old Town.”
The experience runs from Wednesday 1 October to Sunday 2 November and is described as suitable for mature audiences, recommended for ages twelve and above. The walk covers around one mile of uneven ground and is not advised for people with significant mobility issues or health concerns.
Organisers say guests should be prepared for an atmospheric evening outdoors and dress for the weather, as the tour runs after dark regardless of conditions.
Spectre and Host’s Tours of the Unexplained combines historical accounts with folklore and is designed to offer both a chilling and engaging perspective on Poole’s hidden history.
