We Are Boscombe Summer Street Sessions to showcase music, art and local talent

Boscombe will host its first ever We Are Boscombe Summer Street Sessions this August Bank Holiday Sunday, bringing together music, art, food, and community spirit in a full-day celebration.

The event, organised by Bournemouth Coastal BID, will run on Sunday 24 August in Boscombe Precinct from 10am to 3pm, before moving to DEUS Lodge from midday until late. It is being held alongside the Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe (BEAF) to highlight the area’s creative scene and support local businesses.

The precinct will feature a new artisan market curated by Fun Yard Events, offering stalls from local makers. Free skateboarding lessons for children will be provided by Intrepid Skateboarding School, with demonstrations from Moose Skateboarding.

Fiona McArthur, Head of Bournemouth Coastal BID, said the event is aimed at showcasing Boscombe’s businesses, artists, and community groups, encouraging people to shop locally and discover new talent.

BEAF Director Carol Maund said the day would form part of the UK/Poland 2025 Festival and link to BEAF’s current exhibition, You Are Not Alone, at the Boscombe Arts Depot. She added that support from Arts Council England allows them to continue delivering accessible arts experiences for all.

Music will come from performances programmed with the O2 Academy, while BEAF will host art installations and workshops at the Boscombe Arts Depot near the Elephant Street art. An event map will guide visitors to attractions and local cafés, including Boscanova, In Cups, De Nunzio, and Wild Café, which will hold a bring-your-own-vinyl session.

At DEUS Lodge, an internationally recognised lifestyle venue, the entertainment will continue with Ciderfest, a street cookout, live music, family activities, and attractions such as a bucking bronco.

Highlights include the artisan market, skateboarding activities, live music, art installations, and family-friendly entertainment. The event aims to bring together residents, traders, and visitors from across Bournemouth and beyond to experience Boscombe’s culture and creativity.
