Bournemouth beat Everton 3-0 in US Summer Series opener

Bournemouth made a strong start to their pre-season Summer Series with a 3-0 win over Everton at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

After a goalless first half, three second-half goals gave the Cherries a comfortable win in front of an American crowd.

Junior Traorè had the best chance of the opening 45 minutes with a long-range strike that forced a save from Jordan Pickford. But neither side created many clear chances before the break.

The match shifted after the introduction of Philip Billing, who scored the opener just ten minutes into the second half. Driving forward from midfield, he cut inside and curled a shot into the top corner.

Dango Ouattara added a second soon after with a powerful finish following a run down the left wing. A deflection gave him space and he fired past Pickford at the near post.

Young striker Daniel Adu-Adjei sealed the win shortly before a water break, capitalising on a loose back pass to finish calmly.

Andoni Iraola’s team now face Manchester United in their next Summer Series fixture on Wednesday 30 July at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Bournemouth are one of six Premier League teams taking part in the US Summer Series tour. The MetLife Stadium, where the match took place, is home to the New York Giants and New York Jets.
