Community groups and charities across Bournemouth are being invited to apply for free compost and soil to mark the 30th anniversary of Eco Sustainable Solutions.
The Dorset-based recycling and renewable energy company is offering to donate up to two delivered bags of product to each of 30 good causes. It’s part of a thank you to local residents and organisations for their support over the past three decades.
Founded in 1995, Eco handles green and food waste for both BCP Council and Dorset Council. It currently recycles more than 235,000 tonnes of organic material every year, producing renewable energy and high-quality landscaping products including compost, mulch and topsoil.
The company operates from sites in Parley, Piddlehinton and Weymouth, and employs 52 staff. Since its launch, it has recycled over 4.3 million tonnes of organic material and helped prevent more than two million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions.
Eco is currently building a new anaerobic digestion facility at Parley Eco Park. Due to be commissioned in October, it will generate enough energy to heat over 7,000 homes.
Schools, charities, playgroups and other local organisations interested in the compost and soil giveaway are encouraged to email info@eco-landscaping.co.uk.
