Verwood golf day will support children and adults with disabilities

A charity golf day in Verwood next month will raise funds to support local children and adults with disabilities.

Diverse Abilities is inviting teams of four or individual players to take part in the event, which takes place on Wednesday 9 July at Crane Valley Golf Club.

This year’s event is sponsored by Quay Safety and Christchurch Timber and Trading Ltd.

All participants will enjoy 18 holes of golf and a buffet lunch, with extra competitions taking place throughout the day including prizes for the longest drive and nearest the pin.

The money raised will go directly towards funding the charity’s services in Dorset. These include days out for children during school holidays, new equipment for pupils at Langside School, and activity sessions for adults who attend The Beehive in Poole.

Mariana Swain from Diverse Abilities said the event is a great way to enjoy a round of golf while helping people in the local area who need extra support.

Players can sign up or find out more at diverseabilities.org.uk.
