Wimborne’s Food Festival is set to take place on Saturday 20 September from 11am to 4pm, returning for a second year with a range of food-related activities across the town.
The event will include cooking demonstrations by MasterChef contestant George Williams and a talk by Christian Ørner, a private chef and chocolatier from Poole.
Visitors can explore Dorset Farmers Market in Wimborne Square, featuring local produce such as vegetables, cheese, bread, meat and fish. East Street and Church Street will be closed to create outdoor dining areas with street food, samples and live music.
On Minster Green, there will be additional food stalls, and festival-goers can enter a baking competition to find the best Victoria Sponge cake. Entries will be judged in the afternoon with proceeds from cake sales supporting the Mayor of Wimborne’s charities.
The event is organised by Wimborne BID and Dacombes of Wimborne, which highlighted recent recognition of local food outlets in Condé Nast Traveller magazine.
Wimborne BID director Sam Devlin said the first festival last year exceeded expectations and showcased the town’s independent food and drink businesses.
Those interested in participating in the festival can contact the organisers via email – office@wimborne.info.
