An objection has been lodged to a new entrance and extra parking for a West Parley garden centre off Christchurch Road.
The parish council claim that changes are not needed and says it is worried by the congestion which might be caused by adding an extra entrance at the In Excess garden centre and nursery.
It also claims that trees have already been removed adjacent to the proposed new access, prior to a decision on the planning application being made by Dorset Council.
The business says the changes, which includes a new permanent parking area, will improve traffic flows and add to disabled and other parking spaces, increasing the total number of spaces from 39 to 51 with five new disabled spaces.
Dorset Highways has not objected to the changes but says the company should consider pedestrian walkways and EV charging points as part of their proposals.
It says the new access, onto the B3073, Christchurch Road, which is a 40mph speed has been designed at an adequate width access, at 6m, and has visibility splays which are acceptable for the road at that point.
