Bournemouth Air Festival gets ready for action

The Bournemouth Air Festival 2024 is just days away with thousands expected to visit the Bournemouth area for the three day event.

The displays start on Thursday and go on till Saturday night, with both daytime and night-time performances.

Displays in the sky will include the Red Devils Army Parachute Display Team, AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers, The Firebirds, Rolls Royce Supermarine Spitfire XIX – Rolls Royce Heritage Flight, Royal Navy Black Cats Display Team – Leonardo AW159 Wildcat HMA2 DUO, and the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Avro Lancaster B1 on all three days.

Saab J 35J Draken – Swedish Air Force Historic Flight and the Saab SK37E Viggen – Swedish Air Force Historic Flight, will both be on Thursday and Friday.

B-17 SallyB Flying Fortress, The Starlings Aerobatic Display Team, and The RAF Typhoon Display Team are flying on Saturday.

Plus Rich Goodwin’s Aerobytes Jet Pitts G-JPIT Muscle Biplane will be making an appearance too.

There’s also plenty of entertainment on land, with lots of food and drink, market stalls, fairground rides, vintage cars, and fireworks on both Friday and Saturday night from 10pm.

The majority of the action will take place between Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers, and a park and ride service is being provided.
