Towngate Bridge and surrounding roads in Poole were closed for an hour on Tuesday afternoon whilst emergency services attended an incident at the Dolphin Centre.
Dorset Police received a report at 12.23pm raising concern for the welfare of a woman nearby.
It was reported that she was sat on the ledge at the Dolphin Centre and road closures were put in place as a precaution as officers made attempts to engage with her.
The fire service also attended to assist and the woman was taken to safety at around 1.05pm and given appropriate care.
Morebus informed customers at 12.56pm that their services were being diverted. The bridge and other roads are now open again.
