A yellow wind warning is in place for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole until ten o’clock tonight.
The Met Office is warning that wind speeds could get up to 45 miles per hour inland and as high as 55 miles per hour on exposed coasts.
Heavy showers are also forecast.
Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are possible.
