Bournemouth ranks second as most popular staycation destination

Bournemouth has come in second only to Blackpool as the most popular staycation destination for spring, according to a new survey.

The town received around 90,500 monthly searches on Google, compared to Blackpool with an average of 135,000 Google searches per month.

Poole came in 7th place, whilst nearby Weymouth ranked 8th.

In addition, Christchurch features at number five in terms of most affordable destinations.

Credit card brand Aqua conducted new research to help budget conscious Brits looking for a spring getaway.

Sharvan Selvam, Commercial Director at Aqua says, “Whether you’re heading off on a spring-time getaway, or planning ahead for Easter or summer, staycations can be a great way to get some rest and relaxation. From skipping the airport chaos to cutting down travel times, holidaying close to home offers plenty of benefits, and might also save you money on things like flight costs and airport parking.”
