Morebus teams up with City Cruises and Swanage Railway

Three of the Dorset’s public transport services have teamed up to offer a “Jurassic Adventurer” ticket for residents and visitors.

The deal gives unlimited travel, all day, on any Morebus route, The Swanage Railway and any City Cruises trip between March 30th and October 31st 2024.

Richard Wade, Morebus general manager says: “This means passengers could get the M1 or M2 bus from Bournemouth to Poole, then a boat to Swanage, board The Swanage Railway, and then the Purbeck Breezer 40 on a picturesque trip via Corfe Castle back to Poole.

“They could also board our Jurassic Breezer from Weymouth if they choose – there are so many different options for them to choose from.

“With The Swanage Railway also included in one single ticket, this is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a magical day out exploring our magnificent Jurassic coast.

“We’re delighted to have formed this exciting new partnership with both City Cruises and The Swanage Railway. The Jurassic Adventurer ticket will be available to buy from the City Cruises website and be used from Saturday 30 March.

“It is expected to be very popular among those visiting the area this holiday season – and we’re hoping local people will take advantage of it too.”

Helen Bull from City Cruises Poole added: “I am so excited to be part of this amazing trio of boat, bus and train and looking forward to introducing this trip to local residents and holidaymakers alike. I believe it will be a popular and very enjoyable day out – and a fantastic way of seeing this beautiful part of Dorset from many angles!”

The Swanage railway commercial director, Robert Patterson, said: “This is a fantastic additional feature to the local tourist economy, allowing for integrated travel opportunities to, and across, the Isle of Purbeck. It has taken a lot of planning and effort from the partner organisations, and we are confident the Jurassic Adventurer will become an unrivalled round-trip attraction.”
