Firefighters from Verwood were called to a large fire at Boveridge Heath on Monday morning.
Posting on social media, the crew asked for people to stay away so they can tackle the fire: “We are currently dealing with a large fire at Boveridge Heath.
“There are lots of vehicle movements on the main access track so please avoid the area so firefighters can work safely.”
Verwood residents hearing sirens through the town in the early hours have been posting on Facebook about the incident, with one sharing news of the exact location, near Stephens Castle.
