Officers are renewing their appeal for information to help find a missing woman from Bournemouth – with a new image being issued.
Dorset Police received a report at around 9.50pm on Sunday 13 March 2022 raising concern for the welfare of 86-year-old Sylvia Jeeves, who was understood to be at an address in the Iford area. Officers attended the address and she was no longer present.
Sylvia, who is also known as Sylvia Collins, is described as white and of slim build with short grey hair in a bob style. She was last seen wearing a light-coloured woolly jacket, a white shirt, beige trousers and a dark-coloured pair of shoes with white soles.
Officers are carrying out searches of the area in a bid to locate Sylvia, assisted by Dorset Search & Rescue (DorSAR), Dorset Search Dogs, Wessex Flood Rescue Unit and Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Technical Rescue Unit.
Chief Inspector Claire Phillips, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to search for Sylvia and would urge anyone who has seen her, or a woman matching the more detailed description given, to please come forward.
“We have now obtained a CCTV image of Sylvia showing the clothing she was wearing when she was last seen and we are hoping this may jog somebody’s memory from the time she went missing.
“I am appealing to the local community to please check their home CCTV systems or dashcams for any relevant footage of Sylvia in the vicinity since the evening of Sunday 13 March 2022.
“I would again like to make a direct plea to Sylvia if you see this, please make contact with us as we just want to ensure you are safe and well.”
Anyone with information or knowledge as to Sylvia’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 13:554.
