Wareham composer wins prize in Bournemouth music competition
A student from Wareham has won a national music competition run by Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
Amy Jerman’s piano piece The Starling was chosen from nearly one hundred entries inspired by birdsong.
She wins a thousand pounds and online concert access.
Two other winners include a harpist from London and a guitarist from Hampshire.
The orchestra says the standard of amateur musicianship was outstanding.
